Why travel to Switzerland? For such a small country, it is really jam-packed with things to see and do. Delicious fondues, scenic train rides, and amazingly scenic mountain and lake landscapes are just some of the reasons why you would want to visit. It’s also a fantastic melting pot of cultures and languages. The eastern and central regions are primarily German-speaking, whereas the eastern and southern regions are, respectively, primarily French and Italian speaking.
Sadly, because we only had a week to spare for this trip, we chose to focus on a sub-portion of Switzerland to avoid having to be moving around too much. We ended up deciding on the German-speaking region, starting in Zurich and making our way into the Bernese Oberland (Bernese Alps). Within the Oberland area, our main focus was the Jungfrau region, a hiker’s paradise located within lush valleys and eternal snow-capped mountains. Travel to this area of Switzerland and you’ll have an endless supply of fresh alpine air and beautiful alpine viewa.
