Of all our travels, our time in Namibia was definitely among the most memorable. It is such a beautifully unique country, with incredible wildlife viewing opportunities, vast desert landscapes, dramatic canyons, and the chance to climb giant sand dunes in one of the world’s oldest deserts. Namibia is also deceptively large, so road trips here require patience, long driving days, and careful planning, but the scenery along the way is often spectacular.
Some of our favorite highlights included Fish River Canyon, one of the largest canyons in the world, Kolmanskop, a former mining town slowly being swallowed by the desert, the giant dunes of Namib-Naukluft National Park, the eerie landscape of Deadvlei, and our self-drive safari in Etosha National Park, where we saw far more wildlife than we ever expected.
This page brings together our Namibia travel guides in one place. Our current guides are primarily focused on road trip itinerary planning, major highlights, and practical travel tips, with more detailed Namibia guides planned for the future.
