Sardinia Travel Guides

Sardinia is one of the most distinctive islands in the Mediterranean, known for its turquoise beaches, rugged coastal landscapes, and historic towns. While Sicily, Italy’s other major island, is often associated with Baroque cities, Greek archaeological sites, and a more layered urban history, Sardinia feels wilder and more coastal, and is home to hundreds of ancient nuragic (prehistoric) ruins. What also stood out to us most was the sheer number of stunning, often isolated beaches and coves.

Our Sardinia guides focus mostly on the northern part of the island, where we based ourselves in places such as Cala Gonone, Santa Teresa Gallura, and Alghero. From there, we explored a wide range of beaches, coastal towns, hiking areas, archaeological sites, and scenic day trips, including a visit to Bonifacio in Corsica, which proved to be one of the highlights of our time in the region. Beyond that, northern Sardinia alone offers more than enough variety for a memorable trip, from the Gulf of Orosei and Capo Testa to Bosa, Stintino, Castelsardo, and the coastline around Alghero.

Below you’ll find all of our Sardinia travel guides in one place (with more coming), making it easier to plan your route and focus on the regions and experiences that interest you most. You’ll find guides covering beaches, coastal towns, hiking trails, archaeological sites, scenic viewpoints, and practical day trips across northern Sardinia.
